Roger Ebert (1942-2013)

No one has shaped my views of cinema and my love for movies more than Roger Ebert. His reviews and books have guided me through the world of film, entertaining me and enlightening me. His words have inspired me beyond description. The least I can do is to pay tribute to this fantastic writer and all that his work has meant to me. From one movie lover to another: Thank you, Mr. Ebert.

  1. There is a reason his reviews are first in IMDb’s Critics Reviews section. It was no airs and graces with Ebert, and while I didn’t agree with everything he’s written, you cannot fault his passion for the medium. Legend. RIP

    • He was passionate and he was a legend. Of course, we can’t all agree, but his opinion of a film always was important to me, whether I agreed or not.

    • I vaguely remember that review, but it sounds like I’m going to have to go back and read it again. His best writings certainly did have that effect on people. I wanted to post links to some of his best reviews, but he wrote so many great ones that I couldn’t decide what to include!
