Essential Cinema

I have begun to compose reviews of those films that I consider to be the greatest ever. I hope to encourage readers to see great classic movies which they might not have seen before, but I am also writing these to more closely examine the films that I love most. I have written out a selective list of more than one hundred films that I might include and I am glad to see that there is a great variety in the styles, genres, time periods, and countries they represent (the ‘L’s alone range from The Lady Eve, La Jetee, to Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy). Below is a list of the “Essential Cinema” essays, in alphabetical order, that are available at the moment. As of right now there are only a few, but I’m planning on adding more soon.
